Hi! I’m Alina Hou, a freelance illustrator based in Toronto, Canada. I was born in Beijing, China and moved to Canada when I was 14.

I graduated from OCAD University with a major in BDES Illustration in 2023. My passion for art started at a very young age, possibly even before I started kindergarten, when I would draw in a colouring book that my parents bought me.

My inspiration often stems from fairy tales, everyday life scenes, and cats. I create my illustrations using digital media in a playful manner, incorporating shapes, textures, and patterns. I believe that retaining a sense of childlike wonder as adults is valuable, and I hope that my images can resonate with those who share this sentiment and do not wish to lose it.
